THE CO-OWNER of a popular Port Stephens restaurant has been accused of sexual assault after he was arrested by police in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Jonathon Voll, 43, faced Raymond Terrace Local Court this week charged with sexual intercourse without consent; take person in company with intent to commit a serious indictable offence; aggravated sexual assault - deprive liberty and common assault.
The charge of take person in company with intent to commit a serious indictable offence was withdrawn on Wednesday.
Magistrate Justin Peach refused an application from Voll's solicitor to have him granted bail in Raymond Terrace Local Court.

According to court documents, Voll was apprehended by police at 1.30am and was charged at Raymond Terrace Police Station.
Voll was previously on the board of Business Port Stephens and is a co-owner of Mavericks on the Bay, a popular waterfront venue which overlooks d'Albora Marina at Nelson Bay.
