As part of its Children's Day celebrations, Jungceylon shopping centre in Patong, Phuket, invites families to experience an exotic day of fun during "Secret Of The Jungle At Jungceylon" taking place at The Bay Arena daily from 11am to 7pm, Thursday to Sunday.
Each day gives kids and parents an opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of beautiful and rarely seen creatures and likewise enjoy many activities.
Among the animals on display will be the Siberian eagle owl, one of the largest nocturnal birds of prey in the world; white-faced scops owl, one of the smallest owl species in the world; and sulcata tortoise, the largest mainland species of tortoise in the world.
There's more exciting nature watching with Jungceylon's alligator snapping turtle, the largest species of freshwater turtle in the world; marmosets, a small long-tailed South American monkey; and tegu, a species of lizard that might look frightening but is in fact quite gentle.
Children also will love seeing adorable creatures such as the meerkat, a weasel-like animal belonging to the mongoose family; prairie dog, a herbivorous burrowing ground squirrel; Patagonian mara; a rabbit-like animal; and hairless guinea pig which is sometimes a friendly house pet.
A true highlight of the fair will be Steller's sea eagle, a large and magnificent bird of prey with its broad 2.5m wingspan.
There will also be a DIY workshop where kids can make cute animal masks, in addition to jungle games with take-home prizes. Pet products and accessories will also be available for purchase.
There is no admission fee. Visit facebook.com/JungceylonFanpage or call 076-600-111.
