As Greater Manchester gets ready to welcome the weekend, many should be prepared to see dreary and 'murky conditions' throughout.
While some parts of southern areas of England have received a flood warning, all parts of the north, including the north west, have managed to avoid it. However, conditions will still be less than stellar with dark clouds and spots of rain throughout, according to predictions from the Met Office.
Today will be the best opportunity this weekend to go outside with sunny intervals expected throughout the later morning and early afternoon. This will be accompanied by warmer temperatures of 7C and low wind speeds at a minimum of 3mph.
However, by the late afternoon, skies will become noticeably greyer with overcast clouds. It's not all bad news though as temperatures will remain relatively warm at 6C before dropping slightly to 4C in the evening.
For today's weather in the region, the Met Office says: "A few light showers are possible this morning, but otherwise today will be mostly dry after early mist clears. Fairly cloudy at times but some brightness is likely, with lengthier sunny spells this afternoon. Light winds and temperatures around average. Maximum temperature 7 °C."
On Saturday, temperatures will be noticeably colder, starting at 4C before rising slightly throughout the afternoon and evening to 6C. However, it may still be a good idea to wrap up warm as some parts of the morning will feel like 3C.
Furthermore, conditions will be much more dreary on Saturday, with overcast clouds and light rain expected. The Met Office said: "A grey and cloudy day for most areas, with murky conditions at times over higher ground and intermittent light rain and drizzle. Brighter skies may arrive across Cumbria later. Maximum temperature 8 °C."
Early predictions for Sunday see similar conditions of cloudy and overcast skies, however, temperatures may be much warmer, peaking at 9C in the later parts of the day. The Met Office noted that Sunday will be 'windier' and "generally cloudy with patchy drizzle over the hills".
