The Met Office has issued multiple yellow weather warnings for this weekend as rain is set to batter the country.
A warning for rain is in place in southern Scotland from 12pm until midnight tomorrow.
The Met Office has warned residents that heavy rain may lead to some flooding to homes or businesses and disruption to travel.
Two separate yellow warnings have also been issued in the South West of England and South Wales.
The warnings are in force from 2pm tomorrow until 3am on Sunday and heavy rain is expected.
Forecasters said rain could cause some disruption on Saturday afternoon and night, with spray and flooding on roads making journey times longer.
Earlier this week, Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said the chances of cold temperatures and frost will increase across the UK as we enter December, which is the first month of the meteorological winter.
He explained: "At the moment, there is no real strong signals of anything significant snowfall-wise for the next couple of weeks, at least."
Mr Snell said spells of snow are likely at some point in January and February, but it is still too early to predict it.
The meteorologist said: "Generally, temperatures will be cooling off as we head towards mid-December and the risk of frost will become more common."
The Met Office's long-range weather forecast from November 29 to December 8 says changeable and unsettled conditions remain more likely in the North West, with periods of rain and stronger winds.
It adds: "Southern and eastern areas are more likely to see generally drier conditions, but some showers are possible in eastern coastal areas.
"Temperatures overall likely to be around average at first, but with an increased change of somewhat colder conditions developing, compared to the start of this period."
The forecast from December 9 to December 23 says temperatures may remain close to normal overall, but colder conditions are possible at times, with a risk of overnight frost and fog.
