Riddle me this: what is the only matchup of the weekend between two teams over .500? That’s right, the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks and the 6-1 New York Giants. If anyone says they saw this coming, ask them for tomorrow’s lottery number.

Under first year head coach Brian Daboll, the G-Men have already surpassed the season win totals of four of their last five years, and matched their “high” water mark of 2020’s 6-10 record.
Daboll is squeezing every ounce of talent out of a roster many consider to be fairly bereft of it, at least on paper. Much-maligned quarterback Daniel Jones has played efficient, clean football. He has so far avoided the backbreaking turnovers which has mostly defined his career up to this point. Where Jones is making defenses pay this year has been with his legs. Jones is coming off a 107 yard performance last week to bring his season total to 343 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Sunday will be one of the better running back matchups of the season, as both teams feature dynamic players in the backfield. For New York, Saquon Barkley is enjoying a resurgent season. As for Seattle, rookie sensation Kenneth Walker is making heads turn around the league.
The Giants are playing good football right now, but so are the Seahawks. I am not taking anything away from 6-1, but I believe Seattle has a considerably better roster. The Seahawks are rolling right now, and with the 49ers playing the Rams later this afternoon, they have an opportunity to strengthen their position atop the NFC West.
The last time New York came to Seattle, they stole an ugly 17-12 win in the 2020 season. Expect the Seahawks to exact a little revenge, and make the case they are a team that shouldn’t be trifled with.
