Nicola Sturgeon announces face mask rule will end in Scotland next month

Nicola Sturgeon announced that the face mask mandate is to end (Scottish Parliament)

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said the legal requirement to wear face masks in shops and on public transport will end next month.

She had been expected to lift the rule in March, but a rise in cases made her pause.

Addressing MSPs, she said the face mask requirement would be phased out in different stages in April.

Scots airport in fight against Vladimir Putin as soldiers and weapons pass through

Prestwick Airport is playing a key role in the fight against Vladimir Putin .

Several aircraft carrying soldiers, weapons, food, medical volunteers and supplies destined for Ukraine have passed through the hub since the Russian invasion.

Canadian and United States jets have used the site as base to stopover and refuel.

Scots businessman who scammed Boots in £736k gift card con is jailed

A businessman who carried out a huge £736,000 Boots gift card scam in just two months has been jailed for 33 months.

Robert Bell was involved in the con after taking advantage of a secret loophole.

The 37-year-old crook was able to get the cards for free by filling out an order form and asked them to be loaded with credit without the intention of paying the cash back.

Tom Parker dead as The Wanted star passes away aged 33 after brain tumour battle

The Wanted's Tom Parker has died at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Father of two Tom who was diagnosed with the incurable glioblastoma in 2020 had been battling the disease with the help of his wife Kelsey and specialist care.

It comes after he previously told fans his condition was stable following an MRI scan and underwent special treatment at a clinic in Spain, ahead of The Wanted: UK Reunion tour.

'The aliens have arrived' Mysterious blue light moving through sky freaks out Scots

A mysterious blue light moving through the sky had Scots freaking out last night.

Locals in the Fife area were scratching their heads at the sight - with many concluding that the aliens had arrived on earth.

Pictures and videos sent from the area showed a blue laser shooting up to the sky.
