Wife left to give dying husband CPR in back of Scots ambulance after medic 'couldn't do it'
A wife was left to give her dying husband CPR in the back of an ambulance after a 999 medic could not do it. Now ambulance chiefs have been ordered to apologise to the patient’s grieving widow after Scotland’s health watchdog upheld her complaint.
Last night, Labour’s health spokeswoman Jackie Baillie said it was “an absolutely shocking and distressing case”. She continued: “The time taken to convey this person to hospital may have cost them their life and urgent steps need to be taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

Four killers who executed Kenny Reilly in gangland hit appeal murder convictions
Four gangsters who carried out a brutal cold blooded hit on a man in a city street are appealing their convictions for murder. Lawyers for Morton Eadie,56, his son Darren,31, Ross Fisher,30, and John Kennedy,42, have gone to the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh to overturn their guilty verdicts.
The quartet received minimum jail terms totalling 94 years earlier this year for shooting Kenny Reilly in Maryhill, Glasgow, in 2018. But lawyers for the men, who come from Glasgow, believe their clients have suffered a miscarriage of justice and have lodged appeals against their convictions and sentences.

Naked cyclists on tandem bike shock onlookers as they blissfully ride through Scots town
A naked man and woman cycling through a Scots county town on a tandem bike have shocked drivers passing by.
Video footage taken by a stunned motorist shows the nude duo blissfully gliding by the Bridge of Earn in Perthshire on Monday, July 4.
In the clip, the amused onlooker can be heard shouting: "They're in the scud" while blasting their horn as they drive by.

TRNSMT site sneak peek as organisers put final touches on Glasgow Green site
TRNSMT organisers were putting the final touches on the festival site this afternoon - less than 48-hours before the music bash kicks off.
Tens of thousands of revellers are expected to descend on Glasgow Green from Friday until Sunday this weekend.
Paolo Nutini, The Strokes, Lewis Capaldi, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Wolf Alice, Sam Fender and Foals are among the acts that will be taking to the stage during the three-day event.

New Winter Fuel Payments could see people of State Pension age get up to £600 from November
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) recently updated online guidance for millions of older people who qualify for a £300 one-off ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’ on top of their annual Winter Fuel Payment this year.
In order to help people over State Pensions age manage energy bills this winter, more than 8 million eligible households who receive the Winter Fuel Payment across the UK will receive the cash boost from November 2022.
