Ireland will be battered by more heavy rain and winds as Met Eireann has extended its weather warning for another day.
On Wednesday, the national forecaster issued a Status Yellow rain warning for four counties that were set to be hit with strong winds and heavy rainfall which could lead to flooding.
Initially valid from 10am on Thursday morning until 8pm that night, bringing poor travelling conditions to Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo, the warning has now been updated and will remain in place until Friday.

This fresh warning will stay in effect for Galway and Mayo until midday tomorrow but only 8am for Kerry and Cork.
Issuing the warning, a Met Eireann spokesperson said: "Update: Heavy rain at times, with highest accumulations in mountainous regions. Unseasonably windy conditions also."
The forecaster added that the heavy rain and wind could lead to some possible localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions, increased debris and damage to temporary outdoor structures.
Meanwhile, the forecast for the rest of the country looks bleak. During Thursday wet and windy conditions will spread eastwards with rain and drizzle becoming widespread this afternoon.
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue tonight, heavy in places, but some drier intervals will occur also. However, windy or blustery conditions will become increasingly confined to eastern and southern coastal counties overnight.
Moving into Friday, there will be scattered heavy showers with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. There is good news though, as it will be drier with sunny spells developing in the east.
Friday night will bring further showers or longer spells of rain, especially to parts of the west and south towards morning with the potential for some thundery downpours.
