We aren’t even a full month into 2025 and already we have so much drama going on. This time, Tammy Hembrow‘s collab with inclusive lingerie brand Nala has set social media ablaze. And it’s not for the reasons you’d expect.
The drama kicked off when Nala, known for championing body diversity, posted a video of fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow rocking their bra.
Instead of a double-tap here and a simple heart emoji there, the keyboard warriors came out of their caves in full force, with critics taking aim at Hembrow’s breast implants.
One commenter on Tammy’s post of the bra didn’t hold back: “You need to advertise with someone who had natural breasts no implants so unrealistic.”
But Nala wasn’t having a bar of it. They took to Instagram with a statement that basically told the haters to shove it.
“Hey Nala fam, We can’t believe it’s 2025, and we’re posting this…” the brand began.
“We received a barrage of negative comments accusing us of promoting ‘unrealistic’ bodies and criticising our partnership with someone who has ‘fake boobs’.”
Nala stood their ground, reminding everyone that “the reality is, we are all different. We make different choices about our bodies, and we aren’t here to judge”.
“We won’t apologise, and we won’t stop showing our products on a range of different bodies. If you don’t like it, that is ok, we understand if you’d rather shop somewhere else,” they continued.
But it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Plenty of legends came out swinging in support of Nala and Tammy.
One commenter pointed out: “Its insane to me that people want brands to be inclusive but to exclude the more ‘perfect’ body shapes…. Inclusion involves ALL bodies.”
Another supporter commented: “As a plus size woman, I gotta say people, let’s remember that being inclusive doesn’t mean to just the plus size community. It’s EVERYONE!”
Influencer Jayde Howard chimed in: “Body love & acceptance is for ALL bodies! I had implants in when I collaborated with your brand & think it’s wild people don’t know that you still need a bra sometimes when you get breast implants!”
The whole saga is a reminder that we’re still navigating some pretty tricky waters when it comes to body image and representation. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that brands like Nala aren’t afraid to stand their ground.
Tammy Hembrow has not publicly commented on the situation.
