We've found the cheapest price on the latest Google Pixel 7 Pro as Amazon cut £212 off handset

In a surprise and seemingly 'hush hush' tech offer, Amazon has dropped the price of the 2022 Goggle Pixel Pro handset, from £849 to £685, as the retail giant discounts nearly all of the brand's products.

Unbeknown to many consumers, Amazon is currently hosting its 'Google Brand Week' where it shines a spotlight on the latest devices from the tech provider by slashing hundreds of pounds off its prices.

Unless you dig for it on their website it's not obvious, it doesn't even appear in the 'today's deals' section, but it's now available to buy for hundreds of pounds off, exactly £212 off the original asking price.

The Google Pixel 7a Pro was released in October 2022 and now sits third in line behind the latest Google Pixel 7a and the Google Pixel Fold. The latter of which has caused a stir from avid tech lovers as despite being the brand's first foldable handset (folding out into a tablet) it has a significantly higher price tag, starting at £1,749.

The Pro model has a larger 6.7-inch screen, longer battery life, and a quicker refresh rate but apart from that it is essentially the same Google Pixel 7 just in a larger handset.

Our Google Pixel Pro 7 review says the phone is worth the money if you are looking for a phone that delivers superb photography.

Our review expert says: "If you've never used a Pixel or want something that produces absolutely stunning photography then I cannot recommend the Pixel 7 Pro enough. The Pixel 7 Pro shows that Goole isn't just an alternative to Samsung or Apple but that they are one of the leading android devices with its own software-focused approach."

Amazon hasn't specified how long the £200 discount will be available for but it's currently the cheapest price we've seen as other tech retailers are charing the usual £800 price. Shoppers at John Lewis can find the handset for £849 and for customers looking for a monthly plan Vodafone is charging £33 a month for 36 months, a total of £1,188.

Whilst we don't know exactly why Amazon has decided to drop the price of the Google handset the tech calendar could have something to do with it. As 2022's release the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro first hit shelves in October, with the new Pixel 7a joining us this April, so it's likely to see a repeat this October 2023.

Similar to following Apple's iPhone 14 launch or Samsung's newest S23 handset, we can expect to see a new Google Pixel range hit the market this coming autumn, as the potential Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro overtakes. Like any new product launch this is likely to significantly reduced the price of the previous model, which is something Amazon could be gearing up towards.
