There’s a new burger in town - and it’s not staying long. The limited time only McDonald’s Steakhouse Stack received a 10/10 scoring from community reporter Keimae Blake, as she reports…
You can’t beat a Maccies. Whether you’re having a quick takeaway or nuggets after a night out, for meat lovers and vegetarians, there’s something for everyone. My personal favourite is the McCrispy; every time I’ve had it, it’s never disappointed.
McDonald’s has bought back the Chicken Big Mac and launched the Steakhouse Stack - which is as good as it sounds. And of course, I had to try it.
When it comes to new McDonald’s burgers, I rarely ever try them and keep it safe with my usual McCrispy meal that I’d wash down with a Tropicana or a Coke.

On a busy afternoon, filled with students and people on their lunch breaks, queues were quickly going down and then building back up again at the McDonald’s on Exchange Walk in the city centre. On the electronic menu, the Steakhouse Stack was being advertised with a flawless picture and the person in front of me eagerly ordered it as a meal along with extra fries.
The burger comes at £5.39 by itself is £6.99 for a meal. Inside a sesame seed bun, the Steakhouse Stack has two patties inside, lettuce, red onions, crispy onions, cheese and peppercorn sauce.
It was no time before my order number was called out. Beautifully presented, whoever put this burger went crazy with the lettuce - which isn’t a problem and it smelt divine.
If I had my eyes closed, I’ll be honest, I probably wouldn’t have been able to tell meat patties were steak but nonetheless, they were juicy, meaty and moist. The lettuce and red onions added a lot of crunch to the burger and there was a generous amount of peppercorn sauce.
Anything that has cheese on, I’ll have! And the slab of cheese tucked above the two patties was just what this burger needed.
With the Steakhouse Stack being here for a limited time only, I might have a new (temporary) favourite McDonald’s burger. The burger really was stacked full of meaty goodness and definitely deserves a 10/10.
