We tried Poppy and Ted dog harnesses that have cult Instagram following of 142k

Treats, check. Collar, check. Poo bags, check. Stylish poo bag holder, check. Totally adorable rescue dog, check. All that’s missing is a gorgeous matching harness and leash set from Instagram-famous Poppy and Ted.

Launched in 2018, Poppy and Ted is a pet accessory brand inspired by founder Paige Gillard’s new French bulldog puppy, Ted. And what started as a side hustle from her kitchen table has grown into an empire with a shiny new unit, seven employees and two dogs - chief ‘bark-eting officer’ Ted, and his furry sibling Margot.

If you’re wondering where ‘Poppy’ comes in, that’s Ted’s best human friend and cousin, three-year-old Poppy. Paige, who recently gave birth to her first child, Harlow, said: “Together they love nothing more than hanging out, going on walks, and of course taking nap time together.”

Poppy and Ted is a brand that most pet owners have heard of, or at least seen one pooch wearing at the dog park. I spot them out and about absolutely everywhere, from the groomers to when we’re on holiday, and now we have some accessories of our own.

The brand is extremely stylish with collars, leads and harnesses in gorgeous fun patterns, which has earned them 142,000 Instagram followers over the last four years.

New for 2022, Poppy and Ted have launched their new collection featuring a range of bold patterns, including this Flower Power harness as modelled by my seven-year-old Staffy-cross, Phoebe.

All of the harnesses come in five sizes with an easy guide to measure your pooch to get the right fit. Both Phoebe and Frank needed large, and the adjustable design means you can get them to fit like a glove.

Phoebe’s harness is light peach with a pink and orange smiley flower design, made with durable polyester and padded for extra comfort. It was really easy to get on and off, with no faffing with straps and multiple clips - it just slips over the head and clips in place at the back.

The harnesses are priced at £24.99, but some are in the sale for as little as £7.99 for older, but equally cute designs. Frank is sporting the Khaki Wild Leopard, and I love how the green colour looks against his fur.

The breathable lining is ideal for dogs who love to run around, and we found them to look comfortable to wear without restricting any movement in the shoulders. And for mucky pups, owners will be glad to know they’re machine washable at 30 degrees and quick drying, so you won’t have to wait too long for the next adventure.

And if you want to complete the whole look with a matching set, you can get collars, leads, bow ties and bandannas to match, or mix and match patterns and colours for a combination as unique as your pet.

And because Poppy and Ted turned four years old last month, they’re offering exciting discounts for shoppers until May 31. When placing an order, customers can spin the wheel for a surprise discount, from free delivery to 10 per cent off.

What’s more is that 40 lucky customers who place an order before May 30 could receive a golden ticket inside their parcel, which is redeemable against a free harness or collar. You can choose from a broad selection of designs from pretty flowers like Phoebe to leopard print like Frank, all to suit your and your dog's style. You can shop Poppy and Ted’s collections for your own fashionable four-legged friend here.
