We spent £20 at Glasgow Green's TRNSMT and here's what we bought

With over 150,000 people expected on Glasgow Green over the weekend for TRNSMT festival, there's bound to be plenty money spent.

Glasgow Live thought they'd see how far £20 would get us, what food and drink they could and how long it would last. TRNSMT returned and is back in town bringing some of the UK's top bands across three stages with acts like George Ezra, The 1975, Niall Horan, Pulp and Sam Fender expected to wow the crowds over the weekend.

It's during the day and the bands have already rocked the stage, with acts like Dead Pony and Joesef lighting up the main stage we took advantage of the break to head for some scran and to be honest the sheer volume of options this year is pretty incredible.

However, being simple lads and it being a music festival in Scotland we just had to grab some salt and chilli chips, we could have gone for plain chips (£5) or salt and chilli chicken and chips (£12) but being thrifty and wanting flavour we went for salt and chilli chips (£8) leaving us a cool £12 to get drinks.

Other options included gourmet hot dogs (£8 or a footlong for £9) or gourmet burgers (£9) and things like fried chicken, noodles and loaded fries.

Pints

We managed to get two pints of Carlsberg Pilsner (Reach)

With needing to grab a drink for both we could have gone for two soft drinks (£3 each) giving us change to play with for something like another loaded fries (£7.50) or chips and cheese (£7) but going for the full festival experience we decided to grab a pint each as there were two of us.

As they were £6.50 each, we needed to stretch the budget slightly by £1, meaning for £21 we were able to get two pints of Carlsberg Danish Pilsner (£13) and those delicious Salt and Chilli chips, meaning we got fed and a few pints.

Even better, we also discovered the Mcdonalds' van where we could get free fries meaning we were able to get even more food without breaking the budget.

Overall for £21 - we got:

• One salt and chilli chips (£8)
• Two medium McDonalds Fries (Free)
• Two Carlsberg Danish Pilsner (£13)
