We simulated Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham to get a score prediction

Tottenham will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season on Sunday when they face Nottingham Forest at The City Ground.

Despite a poor first half against Wolves, a much-improved second 45 minutes saw Spurs beat Wolves 1-0 in their last Premier League outing, with Harry Kane scoring the goal. Kane's strike made him the highest-scoring player for one club in Premier League history, scoring 185 goals so far in his Spurs career.

All attention for Antonio Conte now turns to Sunday, with Spurs facing newly-promoted Nottingham Forest. Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp could are both set to miss out for Spurs against Forest, whilst Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil will be assessed after missing training.

So, could Spurs avoid an upset against Forest on Sunday? We simulated the clash to find out.

Nottingham Forest vs Spurs score predicted by simulation

To run this simulation, we used FIFA 22, updating the squads with the latest transfers made in this window. Both sides lined up in their 2021/22 kits as FIFA 22 does not provide the 2022/23 ones.

We predict that Nottingham Forest will line up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with the lineup looking as follows: Henderson; Worrall, Kouyate, McKenna; Williams, Mangala, O'Brien, Toffolo; Lingard, Awoiniyi, Johnson.

We predict that Spurs will line up in a 3-4-3 formation, with the lineup looking as follows: Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Royal, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

The first half produced a very close contest, with both sides struggling to break down each other's strong back lines. Spurs were poor going forward - and like the Wolves game, they failed to register a shot in the first half as Taiwo Awoniyi came closest.

Hugo Lloris made a great save to deny the home side in the first half (EA SPORTS FIFA)

The home side's striker dropped deep to try and receive the ball, and when Awoniyi wasn't closed down, the Nigerian striker unleashed a powerful effort on goal. His effort was aimed for the top corner, but Hugo Lloris made a fantastic save at full stretch to tip the effort over the bar.

Spurs came alive in the second half and managed their first shot on goal 55 minutes in, but Kane's effort from a tight angle was well saved by the 'keeper. Spurs had been unsuccessful in all their attacks, and it took a mistake by Forest to gift Conte's side the opener.

Heung-Min Son made it 1-0 to Spurs (EA SPORTS FIFA)

A cross into the box was met by Joe Worrall at the near post, but the defender misjudged his clearance and sliced the ball into the path of Son. The South Korean international took one step to the left before curling his shot into the bottom corner, securing the win for his side in cruel circumstances for Forest.

FIFA 22 predicts that despite playing poor and struggling in front of goal, Spurs could leave Nottingham with three points on Sunday afternoon. Conte's side were as solid as ever defensively, but it took a mistake at the back for Spurs to find the winning goal.
