We simulated Liverpool vs Wolves to get a Premier League score prediction

Liverpool will be looking to avoid a third game without a win on Wednesday night as they face Wolves in the Premier League.

Following the 5-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, a rotated Liverpool side were held to an underwhelming 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace last weekend, with the Reds far from their best once again. Inconsistency has been the story of Liverpool's season, and their results against Wolves this season have proven the perfect example.

In Jurgen Klopp's three meetings with Wolves this season, the Reds have won one, drew one and lost one, the most recent clash a 3-0 defeat in the Premier League at the beginning of the year. Victory for Liverpool on Wednesday could move the Reds six points off the top four with a game in hand, but it all depends on what Liverpool squad turns up on the day.

So, can the Reds pick up three points on Wednesday? We've used FIFA 23 take a look.

Liverpool vs Wolves score predicted by simulation

To complete this simulation, we used computer game FIFA 23 and updated the respective squads with the latest injuries and suspensions. Recent form impacts players' ratings in FIFA 23, so the Reds' squad was lower-rated than usual heading into this simulation.

We predict that Liverpool could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Elliott, Bajcetic; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez.

We predict that Wolves could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sa, Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Bueno; Lemina, Neves; Traore, Sarabia, Nunes; Jimenez.

The Reds controlled the opening stages at Anfield as they bombarded Wolves' net with shots, and Klopp's side gained a big advantage after 37 minutes when Max Kilman was shown a red card for a dangerous challenge on Nunez. Despite being up against 10 men, Liverpool struggled to find a breakthrough, and they had to wait until the 77th minute to break the deadlock.

A Wolves corner was cleared to Trent Alexander-Arnold just outside the Liverpool box, and the defender fizzed a fantastic 60-yard pass forward and into the path of substitute Diogo Jota. The striker latched onto the pass to go one-on-one with the 'keeper, and a cool finish put Liverpool ahead.

Nunez and Mohamed Salah were proving a big handful for Wolves on either wing, whilst the return of Stefan Bajcetic in midfield was welcome, with the Spaniard controlling the tempo. After finding the opener, Liverpool continued to put pressure on the visitors, and the victory was confirmed in the 89th minute as Nunez made it 2-0.

Bajcetic clipped a pass over the Wolves defence for Nunez to chase on to, and the forward used his blistering pace to reach the ball and charge towards goal. As Nunez approached the box, the Uruguayan cut inside, skipped past two defenders and curled a powerful strike into the far corner to wrap up a vital three points.

FIFA 23 predicts that Liverpool could return to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday, beating Wolves 2-0 in the simulation.
