We simulated Liverpool vs Leeds to get a score prediction for Premier League clash

Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their defeat against Nottingham Forest, as they face Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday.

Liverpool produced another concerning away performance in their 1-0 loss, with the Reds still yet to win three consecutive games in the league. A midweek 3-0 victory against Ajax saw Liverpool cement their spot in the Last 16 of the Champions League - the perfect boost ahead of their return to Premier League action this weekend.

Despite their poor start to the season, the Reds are yet to lose at home, whilst Leeds are yet to win away. The last meeting between the two saw Liverpool ease past the Whites in a 6-0 victory at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to have Thiago and Jordan Henderson available for selection on Saturday, whilst Ibrahima Konate could make his return after making the bench against Ajax on Wednesday.

So, can the Reds get back to winning ways in the Premier League? We simulated the game to find out. To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We simulated Liverpool vs Leeds to get a score prediction

We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho; Elliot, Henderson; Firmino; Salah, Nunez.

We predict that Leeds could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Greenwood, Roca; Harrison, Aaronson, Sinisterra; Rodrigo.

Liverpool started the game strongly, with the diamond in midfield controlling possession and creating lots of chances for the Liverpool attack. The Reds eventually took the lead after 20 minutes with a stroke of luck.

Darwin Nunez made it 1-0 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

After Andrew Robertson galloped forwards on the left, he laid the ball off to Darwin Nunez who dropped outside of the box. Not closed down, the striker opted to shoot from range, and after taking a big deflection off a Leeds defender, the ball wrong-footed the 'keeper, flying into the net.

Leeds equalised just before the break with their first shot of the game, with a cross towards the back post headed in by Rodrigo on the counter-attack. It was a poor way to end the half for Liverpool, but not long after the restart they regained the lead as Nunez scored again.

Darwin Nunez made it 2-1 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

On the break, Nunez threaded a ball forward to Mohamed Salah, setting the Egyptian through on goal. As the 'keeper came off his line to close down Salah, the forward smartly cut the ball back to Nunez who had continued his run forward, and the striker powered his shot into the empty net to make it 2-1.

But, a poor defensive set-up allowed Leeds to score with just their third shot of the game, with a driven cross into the front post flicked in by Brenden Aaronson to level the score again. Liverpool continued to search for the lead as they peppered Illan Meslier's goal with shots, and Trent Alexander-Arnold made it 3-2 with 15 minutes to go from close range.

Alexander-Arnold made it 3-2 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

As Harvey Elliot picked up the ball outside the area, he spotted the run forward from Alexander-Arnold, threading a through ball for the defender to run onto. As he broke into the box, Alexander-Arnold cut back onto his left and fizzed his shot into the roof of the net for the lead.

Substitute Jordan Henderson made it 4-2 in the final few minutes when he glanced Robertson's corner in at the front post, securing the win for Klopp's side.

FIFA 23 predicted final score: Liverpool 4-2 Leeds United

Here are the full-time match stats.

FT stats from Liverpool 4-2 Leeds on FIFA 23 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

FIFA 23 predicts that Liverpool could produce a fantastic performance on Saturday night against Leeds, winning 4-2. Nunez could score twice and prove a handful once again, but some poor defensive moments allowed the visitors to grab two in what was more of a nervy game than it should've been.
