Leicester were struggling to contain Arsenal in the first half, with the ball rarely leaving the Foxes end of the pitch. Arsenal were on top, and they took an impressive 2-0 lead after just 14 minutes.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring at the King Power when a chipped ball over the top of the defence by Jorginho was brought down by the winger, and he powered a strike through the legs of Danny Ward to put his side ahead. Saka then set up Eddie Nketiah for Arsenal's second, with the striker cooly turning past his marker before firing back across goal and into the corner of the net.
The pressure was astounding from Mikel Arteta's side, and Nketiah was unlucky not to have a hat trick after being denied twice by Ward from corners. The chances kept coming Arsenal's way, and they then found themselves 5-0 up at half-time, with three goals coming in the space of eight minutes.
Nketiah grabbed his second of the afternoon in the 37th minute, with third-time lucky for the striker who flicked Martin Odegaard's corner on at the front post and into the roof of the net. Odegaard then got on the scoresheet himself in the 42nd minute when he rounded Ward and tapped into an empty net, and in the 45th minute, the Arsenal captain got his second and the Gunners' fifth of the first half when he curled around the 'keeper from close range.
Despite their dominant performance, the clean sheet was wiped out for the Gunners in the 78th minute when Jamie Vardy broke through on goal, and the striker did well to roll the ball under the body of Aaron Ramsdale and into the net. Arteta used all five available subs in the second half, and one of them topped off a fantastic result with a sixth in added time.
Fabio Vieira picked up the ball deep on the right, and the midfielder threaded a perfect pass through the Leicester defence that fell into the path of Leandro Trossard. Without taking a touch, the Belgian guided a fantastic strike into the top corner of the net to make it 6-1.
