We simulated Everton vs Man City to get a score prediction for Premier League clash

Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League and widen the gap between themselves and Liverpool when they play Everton on Saturday.

A shock 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham in City's last Premier League outing handed a lifeline to title rivals Liverpool, and after the Reds cut the gap to just three points after their 6-0 win over Leeds in midweek, Pep Guardiola will be desperate for three points this weekend.

With Liverpool in Carabao Cup action on Sunday, it means City can restore their six-point lead over Jurgen Klopp's men, with fellow Merseyside club Everton gearing up to face Guardiola's side.

City have been handed a boost with both Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus back in training this week, and the duo should be fit to make the squad on Saturday.

Cole Palmer is the only confirmed absentee, with Riyad Mahrez expected to return to the starting XI after dropping to the bench against Spurs.

So, what line-up will Guardiola select? And what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Everton vs Man City on Saturday and this is what happened...

Everton vs Man City score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22 but didn't select a team to control. We then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Frank Lampard's side could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Kenny; Allan, Doucoure; Gray, Alli, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.

We predict that Man City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling.

City dominated the opening stages of the game but, despite their domination, they were finding it hard to break down a stern Everton backline.

The game looked destined to go into half-time at 0-0, but Raheem Sterling managed to find the breakthrough goal just before the break, producing a stunning effort. Sterling picked up possession on the left and cut in towards goal, just outside the box.

As he got to the edge of the area, Everton failed to press the winger as he was allowed to shoot and his curling effort found the far corner to put City 1-0 up.

Everton had failed to create many chances throughout the whole match, but they somehow found themselves level with 10 minutes remaining.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it 1-1 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

The Toffees were awarded a corner after a period of pressure on the City goal, and the resulting set-piece was met by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The striker peeled away from his marker and arrived at the near post unmarked, powering his diving header past Ederson.

Four minutes were added on and Sterling scored the winner for City with the last kick of the game to salvage three points.

Foden did well to spot the run of Sterling and feed the winger through on goal, but the pressure didn't get to the 27-year-old who brushed the ball past Pickford and into the net for the winner.
