We simulated Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham to get a Champions League score prediction

After suffering defeat in the north London derby, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back with a win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

A disappointing performance saw 10-men Spurs lose 3-1 to fierce rivals Arsenal in their last outing, leaving Antonio Conte's side in third place and four points off the Gunners in first. A tough defeat to take, but Spurs will now need to turn their attention to Champions League football, with a tough trip to Germany awaiting.

Spurs conceded two late goals to lose 2-0 against Sporting Lisbon in their last Champions League game, with the Lilywhites having won one and lost one in their first two matches of Group D. Frankfurt also sit on three points after their first two games, and the Europa League champions should prove difficult opponents for Conte's side.

Lucas Moura and Dejan Kulusevski are both confirmed to be absent for Spurs, whilst Ben Davies has recovered from his injury and has travelled with the squad.

So, how could Spurs fare against Frankfurt tonight? We simulated the clash to find out.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham score predicted by simulation

To run this simulation, we used FIFA 23, updating the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Spurs will line up in a 3-5-2 formation, with the lineup looking as follows: Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Lenglet; Emerson, Bentancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kane, Son.

We predict that the German side will line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with the lineup looking as follows: Trapp; Tuta, Hasebe, Ndicka; Knauff, Rode, Sow, Pellegrini; Lindstrom, Gotze; Muani.

Frankfurt had the ball in the net two times in the first 10 minutes but both were ruled out for offside, though they did take the lead when Mario Gotze ghosted in at the back post to head past Hugo Lloris. It was a deserved lead for the home side, but Spurs' attacking quality managed to pull the game level before the break.

Harry Kane made it 1-1 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

A rapid counter-attack saw Spurs turn defence into attack in just two passes before Harry Kane slotted home. Yves Bissouma won possession back in Spurs' half before spraying a 30-yard pass forward to Heung-Min Son.

As son sprinted across the pitch, the South Korean played a reverse pass into Kane running the opposite direction, and the striker rifled a fantastic strike across the 'keeper and into the far corner. The goal was against the run of play, and Frankfurt scored again just after the restart to regain the lead.

A quick passing move down the left saw Frankfurt ease past Emerson Royal and send a cross into the box, and Randal Kolo Muani met the ball at the front post with a diving header as he sent his effort through the legs of Lloris. Spurs had limited chances against a blunt Frankfurt defence, but that sparkle of quality was on display once again as a wonderful goal from Son levelled the scoring.

Ivan Perisic squared the ball to Son just outside the box, and the forward calmly skipped past two defenders before a sight of goal opened up. With a clear opening ahead, Son curled a powerful strike past Kevin Trapp into the far corner to make it 2-2.

Bryan Gil was brought on for the final 15 minutes, and just moments after being introduced, the Spaniard had scored twice to send Spurs into a commanding 4-2 lead. The first goal was down to the drive of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with the midfielder bursting into the box with the ball to create a chance.

Hojbjerg opted to pass rather than shoot, finding Gil inside the box who tapped past Trapp from close range. His second goal was the better of the two though, with the substitute opening up his body from just inside the box to drill a fantastic strike into the roof of the net and confirm the three points.
