We simulated Brentford vs Manchester United to get a score prediction

After losing their opening Premier League game, Manchester United will be looking to bounce back when they face Brentford on Saturday.

Despite an impressive pre-season, United's performance was underwhelming at Old Trafford last Sunday, with Erik ten Hag's side losing 2-1 to Brighton. A lack of sharpness in the final third and sloppy defensive phases handed the Seagulls victory, and Ten Hag will want a much-improved display on Saturday.

A trip to Brentford awaits for United, with the Bees having drawn their opening game against Leicester 2-2. United won 3-1 in this fixture last season, and Ten Hag will hopefully have Cristiano Ronaldo back to full fitness for the trip south.

Christian Eriksen is expected to start against the side he played for last season, whilst Harry Maguire is set to partner Lisandro Martinez in defence once again. After being introduced off the bench, Ronaldo could start on Saturday, with Anthony Martial still out with a hamstring issue.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? To find out, we used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Brentford vs Manchester United, and this is what happened.

Brentford vs Man United score predicted by simulation

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 22 and updated the squads with the latest transfers. Due to FIFA 22 not having the latest kits, both sides lined up in the kits from the 2021/22 season.

We predict that the Bees could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; Hickey, Jansson, Mee, Henry; Janelt, Norgaard, Dasilva; Mbuemo, Toney, Wissa.

We then predict that United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; McTominay, Fernandes, Eriksen; Sancho, Ronaldo, Rashford.

It was a tense first half, with neither team creating any big chances. The biggest chance of the half fell United's way when Ronaldo broke free from his marker, but the Portugal international was unable to capitalise.

Ronaldo missed a good chance to make it 1-0 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Some good movement in the box saw Ronaldo surge towards the front post, and Luke Shaw drilled a great cross into the box for the forward to meet. Ronaldo took the effort first time on his left foot, but the attempt was well saved by David Raya.

Marcus Rashford missed a great chance in the second half when he was sent through one-on-one with Raya, but his shot was weak, curling his effort into the hands of the goalkeeper. Brentford found themselves growing into the game as time ticked away, and the Bees eventually took the lead with 15 minutes remaining.

Vitaly Janelt made it 1-0 to Brentford (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Ivan Toney led a Brentford attack, charging forward with the ball and breaking into the box. The striker set up Vitaly Janelt for a shot, and despite the German's effort being aimed straight at David de Gea, the goalkeeper weakly palmed the effort into the net.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Brentford 1-0 Man United

Here are the full-time match stats.

FT stats from Brentford 1-0 Man United on FIFA 22 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

FIFA 22 predicts that United could be a victim of their own mistakes, with another lacklustre display seeing Brentford win 1-0 in the simulation. Ten Hag's side were poor in front of goal and if they can't fix that issue, it may mean two losses from two this season.
