We simulated Arsenal vs Crystal Palace to get a Premier League score prediction

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their Europa League exit and extend their lead at the top of the Premier League when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

After a 3-3 aggregate draw, Gabriel Martinelli missed the decisive penalty as Arsenal lost on spot kicks to Sporting CP in the Europa League, ending the Gunners' European run in the Round of 16. A disappointing result, but now Mikel Arteta's side can channel all their focus into their Premier League title chase.

Victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday would take Arsenal eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, with City in FA Cup action rather than Premier League this weekend. Having failed to win in 12, Palace will be looking to turn their fortune around against the Gunners, and they'll do so without Patrick Vieira following the Frenchman's sacking on Friday.

So, could Arsenal re-find their winning form on Sunday? We simulated the game to find out.

We simulated Arsenal vs Crystal Palace to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.

We predict that Palace could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Whitworth; Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Milivojevic, Doucoure, Schlupp; Olise, Edouard, Zaha.

It was a tense start at the Emirates, with Arsenal seeing lots of the ball but failing to make a decisive final pass, resulting in few chances being created. A 10-minute period of pressure from Palace saw the visitors come close to taking the lead on multiple occasions, but some good goalkeeping denied an opener.

Aaron Ramsdale made some impressive saves in the first half (EA SPORTS)

Michael Olise and Wilfred Zaha were tormenting the Gunners down either flank, and the latter had Palace's best chance just before the break when a scuffed clearance from Rob Holding allowed the forward to intercept and break through on goal. Zaha shot early, but Aaron Ramsdale reacted brilliantly to palm the effort around the post.

The second half belonged to Arsenal, with the Gunners dominating every aspect of the game, but they struggled to take the lead. Gabriel Jesus was introduced in the 70th minute and was influential in his cameo, playing a major role in Arsenal taking the lead late on.

Thomas Partey made it 1-0 (EA SPORTS)

Thomas Partey won possession on the halfway line to start an Arsenal attack, with only Jesus in support. The Brazilian received the ball, nutmegged Marc Guehi and slid a pass back into the path of Partey, and one-on-one, the midfielder powered home his strike to win the game.

FIFA 23 predicted final score: Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace

FIFA 23 predicts that Arsenal won't be the latest team to fall victim to the new-manager bounce, with Palace's goal drought continuing as the Gunners won 1-0. Despite their dominance, Arteta's side were forced to be patient, and the introduction of Gabriel Jesus from the bench was enough to tip the result in Arsenal's favour.
