We simulated Arsenal v Leeds United to get a score prediction amid Tottenham top-four race

This weekend, Arsenal looks to maintain their position in the top four as Mikel Arteta's side takes on relegation-threatened Leeds at the Emirates.

Arteta will be hoping his side can keep Spurs at arm's length with a win over Leeds on Sunday afternoon after the Spaniard signed a contract extension this week. The Gunners currently sit two points ahead of Tottenham in the Premier League table, with the north London derby set to be played next week in what could be a Champions League qualification deciding game.

Leeds offers a serious threat with Jesse Marsch's side fighting to survive in the top-flight, but their former loanee Eddie Nketiah could play a big role in their survival with him in fine form for Arsenal of late. Benjamin White could return to the squad to face his former side after missing the win over West Ham last weekend with a hamstring injury.

So, what line-ups will both teams select, and what could the final score be? We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Arsenal against Leeds on Sunday, and this is what happened. We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22 but didn't select a team to control. We then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself to give us a score prediction.

Arsenal v Leeds score predicted by simulation

We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; Cedric, Holding, Gabriel, Tavares; Elneny, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah.

We predict that Leeds could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Struijk, Firpo; Klich, Phillips; Raphinha, Rodrigo, Harrison; James.

Leeds took an early lead as they surprised Arsenal with Daniel James opening the scoring in the 4th minute after beating the offside trap, latching onto Kalvin Phillips' through ball and firing the ball past Ramsdale to give the away side a 1-0 lead. Arsenal were caught out pressing high up the pitch and Holding was late to play the offside trap, allowing James in behind for a one-on-one in which he calmly placed the ball past Ramsdale.

Arsenal responded well as Nketiah scored against his former club with a smart finish inside the box at the near post whilst under pressure. Bukayo Saka darted inside from the wing and allowed Nketiah to drift into space inside the box before feeding the ball to Xhaka, who found the 22-year-old with Nketiah able to turn quickly and lash the ball into the top right corner past Meslier in the Leeds' goal to make it 1-1.

Arsenal were the better team after equalising, with Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard threatening on a few occasions, but both teams were level heading into the second half. Odegaard hit the post with a brilliant effort from range that had Meslier scrambling down to his right, but the Norwegian's shot cannoned off the woodwork and behind for a goal kick.

Odegaard was able to find a goal with just 10 minutes left to play at the Emirates, tucking the ball away past Meslier, who was unsighted by Llorente at the near post to give the Gunners a 2-1 lead. The 23-year-old started the move by playing the ball wide to Saka before continuing his run centrally into the penalty box, receiving the ball after Saka had beaten Firpo for pace and then slotting the ball into the top corner to put Arsenal in control of the game.

The Gunners survived a late scare as Raphinha's whipped free-kick zipped just wide of the post as Ramsdale was left rooted to the spot. Arsenal went on to claim all three points and further cement their place in the top four with a huge clash against rivals Spurs up next in the Premier League.

FIFA 22 predicts that Arsenal could come from behind to take all three points in a difficult game against Leeds as goals from Nketiah and Odegaard cancelled out James' early opener. Arteta's side showed brilliant character and determination to come from behind after an early setback to stay in pole position for Champions League football next season ahead of Spurs, Manchester United and West Ham.
