We're Swapping Winter Whites for Other Season-Appropriate Hues We're Calling Icy Blues

This winter we're feeling (icy) blue. (Credit: Courtesy of Staud)

The idea that wearing white is only affiliated with the warm days before Labor Day is a pretty antiquated notion. Winter white is definitely a thing every single year when the weather gets colder and colder. While all-white outfits certainly look crisp, thy only maintain that image if you keep them clean. Like pristine. Which can be hard to do even if you always have a Tide pen on hand. So we're opting for another color palette this season that we've dubbed icy blues.

Basically, icy blues are just like they sound. Shades of the primary color that closely resemble light shining through ice, icicles and what have you. There's a certain greenish tinge although they still fall squarely in the blue category. Now some may refer to them as aqua or even turquoise, but they're not quite that green. It's like a happy and stylish medium.

There are options out there for every part of your outfit. From semi-sheer blouses to trousers, skirts and jeans, you'll almost shiver with excitement over all of the choices. Bags and footwear are also on the menu. See By Anthropologie's glitzy velvet pouch for $88. Or Nike's icy sneakers for a cool $151. Feel free to rock these shades from top to bottom. Styling Staud's Wilson Sweater in Mist with the brand's flashy Casey Skirt also in Mist is a real no-brainer. Of course, they don't have to be from the same label. Slip on Alaïa's ribbed, cropped cardigan over Tom Ford's fancy blouse with plisse plastron and finish things off with Sea's pearl-accented, slightly wide-leg jeans. All of these hues work surprisingly well with Pantone's 2025 Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse.

Ready to lay claim to a new seasonal signature palette? Then scroll down to shop clothing, bags and shoes in icy blues.
