'We're not asking you to go back to Wales!' Susanna Reid tells Richard Madeley as he denies returning to I'm A Celeb

Richard Madeley has weighed in on whether he’d return for the All Stars edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! The 66-year-old was discussing the popular ITV show’s return with Suzanna Reid and Vick Hope on Monday’s, March 27 edition of Good Morning Britain.

“Our very own Richard Madeley’s time on the show in 2021 was cut short so does he have unfinished business?” Vick teased upon talking about the remaining celebrities who are yet to be announced for the spin-off. Ant & Dec confirmed the first half of the contestants on Saturday Night Takeaway last week - read more about that here.

Explaining his early exit in 2021’s series of I’m A Celebrity, Richard said: “I broke the Covid bubble for about two hours and I couldn’t go back in so yeah it was cut short. I was having a good time and I did enjoy it - I know some people do it and regret it but I didn’t and it was really good fun. But would I go back to South Africa? No, I never believe in going back…”

Richard added: “When you’ve done something, you’ve done it, and I think for me to go back would be just continuing an experiment that I’ve already done.” Suzanna then jumped in and said: “That’s such a shame. We’re not asking you to go back to Wales!”

Richard will not be coming back for the I'm A Celebrity spin-off (ITV)

Richard appeared on I’m A Celebrity during its second Welsh series in 2021. The reality show, which has been filmed in Australia since 2002, was forced to move locations to Gwrych Castle in North Wales in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.

The presenter’s time in the castle was cut short, however, and he left the show after being taken to hospital with an unspecified illness. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to return later this year for both an All Stars and regular series on ITV1 and ITVX.
