THESE days, I hear a lot from readers who've subscribed to support our coverage on the situation in Gaza.
The National has been a consistent voice in the UK media – calling for an end to Israel's assault on Palestine, with humanitarianism at the heart of our work.
We have held the UK Government to account on its continued weapons exports to Israel, and challenged Keir Starmer on his ongoing backing of the Israeli government despite the ICC's arrest warrants.
We put pressure on the Scottish Government when Israeli military planes were allowed to land at publicly owned Prestwick Airport.
We published a full timeline of Israel's bombardment of Gaza, making waves around the world when most of the media failed to speak up.
And our Foreign Affairs Editor David Pratt has offered regular in-depth analysis on the horrors faced by the Palestinian people.
Our coverage goes much further than that, with regular exclusive news stories and columns from the likes of Owen Jones and Alison Phipps providing more insight.
Earlier this year we raised over £110,000 for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) in an incredible fundraiser, which was backed by every major political party in Scotland.
We were so proud of that total, especially in the context of a never-ending cost-of-living crisis. People were so generous despite the challenges faced by so many.
To round off the year, we want to pass our readers' generosity on to MAP once again. So we'll be donating £10 to the all-important charity for every annual subscription purchased throughout this month.
