Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed he once spoke to Jurgen Klopp about the idea of him moving to Liverpool.
The Reds boss brought Lewandowski to Borussia Dortmund during his time as manager of the German club in 2010. The Poland international went on to score 103 goals in 187 appearances before moving to Bayern Munich on a free transfer in 2014.
Two years after Klopp was named Liverpool manager, the Reds played a pre-season friendly against Munich in the summer of 2017. It was here that Klopp was reunited with Lewandowski.

And the 34-year-old, who is now at Barcelona after leaving Bayern last summer, has explained what he and Klopp spoke about during their reunion.
“We hosted Liverpool FC with Bayern in the Audi Cup in Munich in 2017,” Lewandowski is quoted telling Sport BILD, via Sport Witness.
“We spoke on that occasion. Klopp asked me, ‘don’t you want to come to Liverpool?’ We looked at each other, then I laughed.
“I don’t know if he was totally serious. But going to Liverpool was never in my mind.”
Klopp was previously asked who the best player he has ever worked. "It actually won't be fair to say that about any other player except Lewy," said Klopp.
"What he has made out of his potential, how he pushed himself to become the player he is today, that's extraordinary."
