'We know what is coming' - Thomas Tuchel makes Everton fans admission and Frank Lampard claim

Thomas Tuchel has claimed that Chelsea are fully aware of what is to come against Everton as his side prepare to make the visit to Goodison Park.

The London side travelled to Merseyside at the beginning of May for what was a vital match in the run-in for Frank Lampard's squad. Met with an incredible atmosphere both in and outside the ground, the hosts were able to secure a 1-0 victory thanks to Richarlison's strike early in the first half.

Tuchel remembers the match well and praised the Evertonians for managing to create the atmosphere they did a few months ago, while also highlighting the importance of his opposite number on the touchline having Chelsea connections. However, he also claimed that his side are absolutely ready for what is to come this weekend, and admitted he does not like to lose.

He told his pre-match press conference [ via football.london ]: “We played very late last season in Everton but we lost. We remember very well.

"We need nothing more to know what is coming. Fantastic atmosphere, very emotional crowd, very emotional team. Of course, we know some familiar faces on the other side of the bench.

"The bench is not so far away in Everton. And still, we have nothing but respect for Frank and his staff. A lot of people with Chelsea history, it was very respectful between the two benches and it will be but at the same time will be very competitive.

"[It] Was a very late game in the season and we lost it and absolutely do not like to lose. We even dislike it more to lose twice, so we know what is coming and we will be ready."

Another big atmosphere is expected for this weekend's match as Everton fans are again preparing a large welcome for the coach as it brings the players to Goodison. Supporters are being urged to gather on City Road from 3:30pm, with the bus set to arrive at the stadium at approximately 4pm.
