'We keep pushing'- How Chelsea players reacted to Norwich win after Roman Abramovich's sanctions

A number of Chelsea players took to social media in different forms to express their views on the last 24 hours that has been filled with huge controversy.

On the morning of March 10, Roman Abramovich was added to a sanctions list by the UK government, meaning the club as one of his assets was frozen, throwing up many complications regarding the day to day running of the club.

It got so bad that even the club shop was forced shut at 11am before fans and player alike were set to make the trip to East Anglia.

However, the players ensured that this 'difficult day' for Chelsea Football Club, as described by Women's manager Emma Hayes prior to their London derby against West Ham, could be somewhat put behind them.

With the bit between their teeth, the current European and World champions raced off to a flying start at Carrow Road courtesy of goals from academy graduates Mason Mount and Trevoh Chalobah, who both showed their love and emotion for the beloved club with their celebrations for each goal.

Norwich then hit back to halve the deficit midway through the second half and the thought of a lead slipping began to grown, but N'Golo Kante and Kai Havertz both ensured this wouldn't happen with their involvements for the third goal late on.

"No, the evening did not feel strange. It helps sometimes to have a fixed schedule, to arrive on matchdays is what we do so often. So this is a rhythm everyone is used to and it gives you a structure to feel safe," manager Thomas Tuchel reflected in his post-match press conference.

"We arrived [at the hotel], had lunch together, had a little break, pre-match meal and tactical meeting, set-piece meeting, and then you go. So it helps you to be in this mode.

"Of course, there was a lot of distraction, another level of distraction actually with the sanctions. We could feel it, the players talk about it, they're aware of it. We accepted it.

"As I said, I think the rhythm, the excitement, the love for the game, in general, helps us. We allowed ourselves and demanded ourselves to work hard, to sweat it out, to work together, and it was the best thing to get the focus back and enjoy what we are doing.

"Full credit, the team showed very good character and we can be proud that they produced performances like this under the circumstances. It tells us we are right to trust them, that the attitude is right, and the culture of the club is right.

"So we keep on going."

With so much going on for the players throughout the day, football.london took a look at how the squad reacted to the win on their social media accounts.
