Mohamed Salah has told Liverpool what they need to do to return to the Champions League in 2024/25.
Manchester United’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea on Thursday night confirmed that the Reds will finish fifth this season, missing out on competing in Europe’s elite competition for the first time since 2016/17 in the process.
Salah posted an emotional apology supporters on social media after the final whistle at Old Trafford, admitting he was ‘totally devastated’, the Reds have ‘failed’ this season by missing out and that there are ‘no excuses’.

While Man City have won the Premier League title for the third season in a row, the rest of the top four is completely different to last year with Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United all qualifying for the Champions League at the expense of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Reflecting on a difficult campaign, Salah admitted the challenge the Reds now face against improved competition. However, he insists Liverpool need to just focus on themselves.
“It’s hard for everybody, not just Liverpool,” he said, quoted by Football Daily. “I think the teams now are tougher than before. But because they play football, they have good manager and good players.
“We just need to focus on our game. We don’t have to think about other teams. We just need to focus on our games, and win games in any way.”
