Abdoulaye Doucoure insists there is a belief in the Everton team that they can avoid relegation and revealed keeping the Goodison Park club in the top-flight is the only thing on his mind.
Sean Dyche's side suffered a chastening 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Thursday night to leave them second bottom and two points off safety.
The demoralising second-half collapse against the Magpies means Everton's winless run now stretches to six games. The last time the Blues tasted victory was against Brentford back in March.

But speaking ahead of Monday’s relegation six-pointer away to Leicester City at the King Power, Doucoure insists there is still confidence the Blues can save themselves.
He said: "We have to forget this game quickly. It's a big disappointment for us. We want to win, especially at home, but tonight was a failure from us.
"There's belief. You know when you lose a game like this at home, confidence can be low, but we are fighting for our lives.
"We have to be honest and not feel sorry for ourselves. We have to fight like we did in the first half today. If you do that, you have more chance to win games."
Asked about Everton's battle to avoid the drop, the midfielder said: "It is on my mind every day. It's what we do for our life. Everton is massive for everyone.
"It is so important for the fans and for the people who work for the club. We, the players, don't want to take the team down; it's up to us to keep the club up."
Everton's recent woes have been compounded by results going against them elsewhere, although Brentford did them a favour by staging a late fightback to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 on Saturday.
And Doucoure believes the Blues been left with little choice but to take all three points against Leicester.
He said: "On Monday, we have to be on it. It's a big game against a direct opponent trying to stay in the league. We have to win this game.
"Every game is very important at the minute. It's not only a fight against Leicester, but we have to be on it come Monday."
