A school in Bolton had to contact Google to correct a mistake which saw their name changed on the search engine. Little Lever School was appearing as New Hall Village School yesterday and had to reassure residents that was not true.
They have since contacted Google about the mishap and asked for it to be corrected. The Church Street site is welcoming children back this September and are keen to make sure those searching for them on Google are not led astray.
The Manchester Evening News conducted a Google search on September 2 which showed Little Lever School labelled as New Hall Village School in the maps section on the right-hand side of the page.

“It has come to our attention that a Google search for Little Lever School shows the school named as New Hall Village School,” the school said in a post to social media. “Please be assured this is false and we have not changed our name!
“On discovery we have notified Google this is inaccurate and asked for the search to be corrected. We are now awaiting for them to rectify the issue.”
