Over the past couple of weeks holidaymakers have quite rightly been nervous about the potential for their flight to get cancelled and thus ruining their holiday.
For a lot of people the cancellations and delays faced by easyJet and British Airway passengers only caused delays by an hour up to a day.
However sadly for others, it meant cancelling their holiday in its entirety and claiming compensation.

The cancellations came during the Easter holidays - a time where bookings have surged as people take their kids on holiday whilst they are not in school.
So with the likes of easyJet being at the centre of delays and cancellations, we wanted to see what it was like to fly with them during Easter.
Here's what happened...
When and where did you fly to?
The flight was due to take off at 10:40am on April 13 2022 heading for Charles de Gaulle, Paris.
Security
The first thing to tackle on our trip was security. The line was pretty big for 8am as we expected it to be quieter however it moved fast and there were no issues.
Many people were seen ditching their liquids due to the 100ml rule that must fit inside a specific sized plastic bag.
Before getting through the gates, we would recommend getting your electronic devices and liquids out so you're not faffing about whilst standing in line.
We arrived at the security line at 8:10am and were out and sorted by 8:33am - so it was pretty speedy and only took about 20 minutes from joining the queue, going through the scanner and collecting our bags at the other end.
Cancellations and delays from Glasgow Airport
Thankfully there were no delays or cancellations to the flight - other than trying to locate a child under two - but apart from this everything went smoothly.
We actually arrived in Paris 10 minutes ahead of time which you can't argue with!
Was easyJet's speedy boarding worth it?
We would say so.
On the way their speedy boarding was pretty quick, however before the gates opened, the line was split into two with no distinction between them making it hard to see where speedy boarding passengers had to be. It wasn't until we heard someone yell for speedy boarding passengers that we then jumped to the front of the queue.
The same happened on the way back but thankfully we were first in line heading to Glasgow making it easy to put our bags above our aisle.
This helps if you have cabin bags only - like us - and want to ensure you'll get a space rather than having to put it in the hold.
Did people on the plane wear a mask?
Everyone that we could see wore their masks - even around the airport - unless they were eating or drinking.
At the time of flying, easyJet rules state that when flying to France "all passengers aged 6 and over are required to wear a FFP2 or surgical masks when they fly. Cloth masks, scarves, visors and masks with valves are not accepted."
Cancellations and delays heading to Glasgow Airport
On the way back the flight was scheduled for 6:15pm (Paris time) and landing at 7pm (Glasgow time) on April 17 2022 and we did face some delays sadly but thankfully it wasn't too bad.
Our flight was delayed by 30 minutes meaning our time of arrival was also set back.
Strangely these times varied on the easyJet app, easyJet website and Glasgow Airport's website despite the board in CDG (Charles de Gaulle) Airport stating the flight was on time.
The gates were originally due to close at 5:45pm local time however this was delayed and they actually opened the gates at around 6pm and we took off around 35 minutes later.
The delay was due to a late departure from Glasgow which was flying to CDG.
After landing back home, we had to wait a few minutes for the stairs to be fitted to the plane before we could disembark and during that time the captain came over the intercom to update us and said it was due to Glasgow Airport being short-staffed.
Overall experience and recommendations
After seeing the delays and cancellations easyJet were facing it was only natural to be concerned we would never see Paris.
But thankfully everything went pretty smoothly and there was nothing to complain about.
We would recommend that passengers - whether solo or family - get to the airport at least two hours early to ensure they get through security and find their gate on time. But it's always worth checking with your airline as to when you should arrive.
As mentioned, many people in security were seen ditching liquids that didn't adhere to their 100ml rule, so we would also advise that people read their liquid rules here and ensure they have their liquids in hand ready to be put in the trays.
We would also recommend avoiding hold bags so that once you're off the plane you can grab your cabin bags and go.
We had speedy boarding which saved us time too and was worth the fee.
