'We couldn't dig a big enough hole to hide in': David Klemmer

We can't dish up what we did on the weekend again.

I thought the first 30-odd minutes we were in the fight against Parramatta. We were going back and forth.

But it's just the same old thing at the moment, too many dropped balls and too many penalties that are legging the opposition up.

Once or twice is alright, but when you're doing it four to six times a half and giving teams good possession, it takes a toll on you.

Losing in front of all those fans really hurt. We couldn't dig a big enough hole to hide in. They came out and we dished that up. It was embarrassing, plain and simple.

We're just down a bit of confidence at the moment.

But we're the only ones that can fix it. No one else can do it. We are the people that go into that building every day and go to training.

We've just got to man up and dust ourselves off.

We got a touch-up from 'Adsy' and the staff on Tuesday; a bit of conditioning. We copped our medicine and that's all you can do.

We've got a big week this week against Melbourne and we're playing at home again.

We've got to make sure we're doing the right things, on and off the field. It's been a good start to the week and hopefully we can prepare our best for the Storm.

I tried not to watch any footy over the weekend after our game, but we know what they did on Monday.

They are a quality side and always have been. They've got some strike players playing some great footy at the moment. And we know the type of footy they play, but they are only men that put footy jerseys on and they're no different to us.

And that's the most important thing for us to worry about this week - ourselves.

That's the only thing we should be worrying about. We've got to have a big game.

On another note, I would love to see a game played at McDonald Jones Stadium on ANZAC Day.

I reckon it would be huge.

We've got a lot of military up here. There are a couple of bases in the Hunter. I think all the servicemen and women would get behind it.

I love how the NRL celebrates the Anzacs right across the entire round with all the pre-game game stuff, it feels like a big game and gets you going.

But you get pretty envious of the guys that actually play on ANZAC Day.

They do that every year and you can see how much respect they give it. And what it means to not only the rugby league community, but all the people that are affected by war and in the military.

It's a great thing the NRL does and they are very lucky to have it. I took my boys to the Speers Point dawn service. It's a special day and I think a game up here is worthy of consideration.

I think Manly and the Tigers had a game last year alongside the regular Roosters-Dragons and Storm-Warriors matches, so why not us?
