'We can beat anyone' - Jonas Eidevall on Arsenal Champions League hopes after Bayern comeback

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall believes his side can "beat any team" in the Women's Champions League following their 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

More than 20,000 fans watched on inside the Emirates as goals from Frida Maanum and Stina Blackstenius helped the Gunners overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit and book a spot in the semi-finals for the first time in a decade. Arsenal's pulsating first-half performance gave way to a more disciplined defensive display after the break, with the Frauen-Bundesliga leaders unable to find a route back into the tie.

Arsenal will now have more than a month to prepare for the first leg of their semi-final tie on May 1, where they will face either Wolfsburg or Paris Saint-Germain. But Eidevall is confident his side's recent form has demonstrated the Gunners are capable of going toe-to-toe with any opposition.

"If we hit things right, we can beat any team," he said in his post-match press conference.

"But there is a lot of work going into performances like this and being consistent so we don’t take anything for granted. Every opponent will prepare even better and play even more voraciously, we need to deal with that.

Reflecting on the significance of Arsenal reaching the semi-finals, Eidevall added: "It is an incredible achievement that we are so proud of. I told the players that the second half against Bayern, the Conti Cup against Chelsea told me we have the potential when we hit everything to beat every team.

"That doesn’t mean we can do it always but we have that potential, so if we know we have it, we can bring that to one more stage in the competition to see how strong our wings are and how high we can fly together. We managed to do that today and that is a proud moment, not just for me but for the club."

Wednesday's victory was marred slightly by injuries to both Kim Little and Katie McCabe. Little was withdrawn from the action shortly after the break while McCabe was seen on crutches at full-time after limping off in the closing stages.

"I don’t know, it is still too soon," Eidevall said when asked for an update on the pair's conditions. "We need to see this evening and tomorrow to get a clear understanding. When we have more information we will update."
