It can be a really difficult to choose the perfect dog breed for your home, and you'll likely spend hours weighing up their characteristics, size, temperament and many other factors - they're going to be your friend for life after all.
But what would you do if you found out that the dog you'd spent time choosing turned out not to be the breed you thought? A couple was left shocked after they did a DNA test on their dog, and it came back with multiple breeds they'd never even considered she could be.
A couple took to Reddit to share that they thought they'd bought a white German Shepherd, but it turned out she had a lot more of a varied family lineage than they first anticipated.
Despite the hilarious mix-up, they love their pooch more than ever, and 'couldn't be happier' with their choice.
They wrote: "She was supposed to be a white German Shepherd. We did a DNA test. She is 25% German Shepherd, 25% husky, and 50% Tijuana street dog. We couldn't be happier."
They were thrilled as all these dogs have pleasant temperaments. The Kennel Club say that German Shepherds are notoriously smart, huskies are friendly, and Mexican street dogs are often intelligent and adaptable.
In the comments, people complimented how adorable she was, saying that she was a "100% good girl."
One wrote: "Awww, she's beautiful."
"Mine is German shepherd, husky, and Rottweiler and she certainly has that husky whine lol", someone related.
"She looks like a sweet girl", a Redditor gushed, whilst another said: "WISDOM! You are richly blessed!"
"She is as pretty as can be", people complimented, and someone joked that they thought their dog was: "Part German Shepherd/coyote/Angel/melted marshmallow covered in hair."
