Micah Richards insists that Liverpool have the strength in depth to push Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race.
The Reds cut the gap between themselves and top of the table Man City to six points after beating Norwich City at Anfield on Saturday, and Pep Guardiola’s side failed to re-establish their advantage after suffering a shock 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool can cut the gap to three points with a win over Leeds United on Wednesday, and the two sides will meet at the Etihad in a potential title decider on April 9.
The weekend’s results have undoubtedly reignited a title race that many feared was already over, and Richards insists that Jurgen Klopp has built a squad of players capable of competing with City.

“It only takes one slip up, and Liverpool have got a squad now. He told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport .
“They’ve got people like [Luis] Diaz coming in, [Naby] Keita is playing well, [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain as well.
“[Joe] Gomez even got a start the other day and [Kostas] and Tsimikas, they have got a stronger squad. ”
Richards also claimed that City’s defeat to Spurs may just be the warning they needed to ensure complacency doesn’t creep into their game.
He added: “Man City were always going to drop points, especially when it came to the time around the Champions League, we all knew that was going to happen.
“It’s never been over, in terms of Man City they needed that [defeat to Tottenham] just a wake up call just to say ‘things are not over yet.’
