WC Bar launches chilling Halloween cocktails and spooky bottomless brunch

A popular Newcastle city centre bar is transforming its drinks menu to give things a frightening twist in a Halloween treat for the grown-ups.

The Bigg Market’s underground WC Bar has had a full makeover for the occasion, with its new chilling cocktail menu inspired by classic horror films. From blood-red cocktails designed for Dracula himself to quirky concoctions named after Frankenstein’s monster, these spine-tingling drinks are sure to get you in the mood for spooky season.

WC’s tiny High Bridge Street sister venue Gin Closet - otherwise known as the UK’s smallest Gin Bar - has also had a cocktail menu makeover especially for Halloween. Both bars are offering up sweet autumnal flavours for the occasion too, from a pumpkin-spiced Espresso Martini or a toffee apple Old Fashioned at Gin Closet to a cocktail dubbed ‘an apple pie in a glass’ at WC.

The special drinks are available from now until the end of the month, and all cocktails on both menus are also available during mid-week happy hours - with the hidden-away underground settings making them the perfect spot to enjoy some Halloween tipples. WC is also running events to celebrate all things supernatural this month, including an already sold-out psychic night on 28 October with tarot card, crystal ball and palm readings.

The bar is are also throwing a Halloween-themed Bottomless Brunch on 30 October, offering 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails and Prosecco for £30pp. Time slots are still available to book on the brunch from 12-3pm, with the tipsy tea party also including three tiers of luxurious cakes, brownies and other sweet treats.
