Wayne Rooney has suggested that Tyson Fury has done enough to have earned a knighthood following the third successful defence of his WBC World Heavyweight championship crown on Saturday evening.
Rooney was in the crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the former Manchester United and England captain sitting ringside to watch the Manchester fighter win with a tenth round stoppage. Fury is known to be a boxing fan, with videos having been leaked of the star boxing in his kitchen and being knocked out by Phil Bardsley back in 2015.
Fury is the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world and will be bidding to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis in a potential fight against Oleksandr Usyk next year.

Fury was expected to beat Chisora comfortably, but the stars who were ringside for the fight including Gordon Ramsay and Reece James got to see an impressive display from 'War' as he held firm for ten rounds.
Before the fight, Rooney was interviewed by TalkSport, revealing his admiration for the self-styled 'Gypsy King' saying: "He's the best we've seen for a long time. I don't think anyone will beat him. I think he's an absolute legend, what he's done for boxing. He's entertaining. His skills are incredible.
"His mentality is incredible. If I'm being honest, I probably think he should be knighted. Because he hasn't been afraid to go abroad. He's won titles abroad. Defended them abroad. He epitomizes everything that boxing is."
Fury followed the fight by facing off with Usyk who was in attendance in North London and appeared to confirm that the fight against the Ukrainian will take place with Joe Joyce waiting in reserve to fight Fury should a deal not be reached.
