Wayne Rooney was left bleeding during a raucous night out with his wife Coleen in Dubai. The couple were letting their hair down during the trip, which they have taken with their four children. They were seen enjoying their wild evening with former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley and her former footballer husband Phil.
Tanya took to Instagram with a look into their evening, starting with a picture of her sandwiched between Coleen and another pal. The former reality star looked stunning in a figure-hugging black dress while Coleen looked gorgeous in a vibrant pink dress.
Then in one of the videos, Wayne, 37, could be seen dancing with his wife and their showbiz pals in Greek restaurant Opa, famed for its plate smashing. While bits of broken plate could be seen flying about, the next slide appeared to show the former Manchester United and England star had suffered an injury.
He could be seen nursing a bleeding cut on his forehead amid laughs from the rest of his dining group. "I was just minding my own business," the Liverpool-born star said as Tanya, who appeared to be filming, could be heard saying it was the "funniest" thing she had seen.
Then Coleen, 36, was seen sitting with a shot glass balancing on her head as the waiter poured her a tipple. The mum-of-four then drank the shot before smashing the plate it was resting on. There was then more videos of the group standing on their chairs while waving white napkins as they rounded off their fun-filled evening.
"Part 1 of the funniest night ever," Tanya typed before tagging her husband, son Rocco, Coleen, Wayne and their eldest son, Kai. "So many funny videos best night ever," she added before saying: "Thank you @opadubai."
Tanya also shared a picture of herself and Coleen to her Instagram Story and wrote: "Love you the most down to earth special girl @coleen_rooney. Love you to bits." Coleen then reshared the post to her own Instagram Story, typing to her pal and millions of followers: "The best night @tanyabardsley7."
Coleen's break comes after it was revealed that the 'Wagatha Christie' legal battle between Coleen and Rebekah Vardy will be staged in the West End for one night only. Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial has been adapted from a High Court transcript by Liv Hennessy and will be directed by Lisa Spirling.
In the trial which gripped the nation earlier this summer, Vardy, 40, lost a libel battle against Coleen over a viral social media post after a High Court judge found it was “substantially true”. In the post, which went viral in October 2019, Coleen said she had carried out a months-long “sting operation” and accused Vardy of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press.
Her sleuthing efforts saw her dubbed “Wagatha Christie” in reference to the popular mystery writer. The high-profile court case has already been secured for on-screen dramatisations, with Channel 4 creating a two-part film titled Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama.
The series will recreate the “high drama, high stakes High Court defamation case that followed, a case that had a huge impact on the lives of the two women at its heart and catapulted the two sparring legal teams into the spotlight, where much like Rooney and Vardy, their every move in the courtroom was dissected and scrutinised in the press”.
The show has also been created from court transcripts and will air later this year. In August, Disney+ also said it is also creating a three-part documentary series about the court battle with 'exclusive access' to Coleen.
