Wayne Rooney has responded after a fan dressed up as him for Halloween.
Back in 2003, when the footballing legend played for Everton FC, Rooney was caught out by paparazzi enjoying a comically sized lollipop while on holiday in Portugal with his wife, Coleen. He was wearing a navy tank top, short shorts and sliders as he enjoyed the oversized sweet.
Now one man has used the well-known image as his Halloween inspiration. Taking to Twitter, Alex Williamson got the look spot on as he posted a side by side comparison of the original image and his own take on it.

He comically captioned the post: "Hallowooney" and tagged the 37-year-old sportsman. The post was liked more than 30,000 times and retweeted over 1,000 times.
And sure enough, it caught the attention of the football manager and former player himself. Wayne commented on the post with a simple two-word response.
It seemed he found the get-up hilarious as he wrote: "Good effort" followed by a crying laughing emoji and a thumbs up.
Speaking to LadBible, Alex joked: "Rooney was an icon of mine on the pitch and then off the pitch with his fashion." The 27-year-old added: "The vest was the hardest thing to locate, until I found a T-shirt on Depop and did some DIY. I spent the evening watching Rooney’s first 100 PL goals before heading to my mate's for a house party."
