'Way better' - Theo Walcott gives Arsenal verdict ahead of crucial Man City fixture

Southampton and former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott believes that the Gunners are way better than Manchester City and they should be confident ahead of Wednesday's trip to the Etihad Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's team dropped two points on Friday night as the Premier League's bottom club gave them a scare at the Emirates. Carlos Alcaraz and Duje Caleta-Car were all on the scoresheet to put the Saints into a 3-1 lead.

However, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka's late goals earned the hosts a point. Arsenal now sit five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League but Pep Guardiola's men now have two games in hand.

The leaders travel to Manchester on Wednesday night in a must-win game if they wish to win the Premier League. Ahead of the clash, Walcott was asked for his opinion on the two title contenders.

While City have the title in their hands, the former England international was adamant that his ex-team were better than the Blues. He told Sky Sports: "Of course, City are beatable.

"This Arsenal team can beat anyone...100 per cent. They are just incredible.

"After the City game we played the other week, I felt Arsenal were way better. And that’s how I see them at the moment.

"We can take a lot of positives from this result because Arsenal are the best team in the league." City head into the title decider full of confidence after securing their place in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Guardiola's men beat Championship side Sheffield United 3-0 at Wembley thanks to a Riyad Mahrez hat-trick. They will play either Manchester United or Brighton and Hove Albion who play in the other semi-final on Sunday.
