A waterpark in Staffordshire has been evacuated after visitors reported 'eye and throat irritation and nausea'. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics are in attendance at Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent after people reported feeling unwell earlier this afternoon.
Two people have reportedly been taken to hospital, according to Stoke-on-Trent Live. Eye witnesses reported seeing up to seven police cars, eight ambulances and three fire brigades at the scene, along with the air ambulance, which landed nearby.
In a statement, the ambulance service said: "We’re currently in attendance at an incident along with police and fire colleagues at Waterworld, Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent following a call at 1.55pm. A number of ambulances and specialist resources are on scene assessing a number of people who are reported to be feeling unwell . The public are asked to avoid the area at this time to allow 999 staff to deal with the incident."

Some visitors to the park "reported eye and throat irritation and nausea", Staffordshire Police said. The force said in a later statement: "Officers remain in attendance at Waterworld, Festival Way, Stoke-on-Trent. We continue to support colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and WMAS as they assess those who have presented as unwell at the scene."
The force said that the "majority of individuals have been issued with advice by medical staff and discharged", adding that the attraction remains closed to visitors. The statement added: "The Health and Safety Executive has been informed along with Stoke-on-Trent City Council who are also in attendance."
The attraction was evacuated "as a precaution", police said. One employee told Stoke-on-Trent Live that people were ordered to leave the park at around 2pm.
