Waterloo Road is returning for its twelfth series, following its successful reboot which aired earlier this year.
The popular BBC school drama ran from 2006 to 2015 before being taken off air, but was revived back in January with faces old and new. In September 2021, broadcast bosses announced that the drama, which is filmed and set in Greater Manchester, would be making its much anticipated return.
Now, the show will be picking up where it left off - with plenty more drama on the way for both the pupils and staff members during its seven episodes. Former deputy head Andrew Treneman, played by Jamie Glover, will also be making a return this series.

Some fresh faces will grace our screens, as new boy Myles Massey, played by Osian Morgan, joins the school after being let go by a football academy. He is struggling to come to terms with life back in mainstream education and soon makes it clear that he’s not there to make friends.
Elsewhere, love is in the air this term as new couples get together and hidden feelings come to the surface. As ever, the staff and students are all navigating life at school while dealing with their own issues, including mental health, racism, the cost-of-living crisis and being LGBTQ+.
