Waterloo Road fans were left pleasantly surprised on Monday with the new that three original cast members are rejoining the show for its new series.
Sixteen years have now passed since the hit BBC drama first launched on screen screen, with a number of well known faces in the cast including Jill Halfpenny, Denise Welch, Jason Merrells and Angela Griffin.
The harrowing death of Jill's character, drama teacher Izzie Redpath, gave Waterloo Road one of its most dramatic storylines in the early days, while Izzie's daughter Clo and boyfriend Donte were at the centre of drink driving and teenage pregnancy plots.
And speaking of Clo and Dante, the actors who played them - Adam Thomas and Katie Griffiths - are back as filming gets set to start on a new series and so is ex Coronation Street actress Angela, who played popular teacher Kim Campbell.

Waterloo Road was a huge part of my life and career so to go back 15 years later is a dream come true," and his on scree other half Katie said: " “I am incredibly excited to be returning to Waterloo Road - loved by all who make and watch it!
"Chlo was my first professional acting role, and I feel so lucky to be part of the show again. I can't wait to see what stories unfold!”
