Donald Trump has imposed a minimum 10% tariff on all UK goods to the US - (PA Wire)

The UK has released an extensive list of US products that could be slapped with import taxes in retaliation against Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day”.

The US president unveiled tariffs on countries around the world on Wednesday night, with the UK’s 10% rate putting it in the lowest “baseline” category.

Other countries were hit by tougher tariffs, including the EU who are facing 20%. In response the world’s largest trading bloc is finalising its first package of countermeasures.

Elsewhere, Japan who are facing 24% and China who are facing 34% tariffs.

The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer acknowledged Trump’s tariffs on the UK will have an “economic impact,” amid fears of huge job losses.

Thousands of jobs in the UK car industry alone are feared to be under threat after Trump imposed a 25% tariff on all motor imports into America.

Sir Keir has stressed that the Government will “fight” to strike a trade deal with the US, which is in Britain’s national interest to avoid the tariffs.

The Government has created an extensive 417-page list of items that may be included in retaliatory tariffs, including some very strange items.

From alligators to water slides, here are some of the more unusual US goods that the Government is considering putting tariffs on.

Birds of prey, nests and turtle eggs

A wide range of animals feature on the list of goods that could be sold with tariffs. Turtle eggs, birds’ nests, alligators, caymans and iguanas are just some of the animals on the list.
