Wales fans didn’t have much to laugh about following their World Cup defeat to Iran in Al Rayyan but the response of one punter in a comical clip in Qatar certainly raised a few chuckles as the dejected Dragons punters made their way out of the stadium following the Group B encounter.
Sky News were on hand to catch the travelling fans following the 2-0 loss in the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium and the clip was short and sweet to say the least. The reporter starts by asking one fan for his thoughts on the win only to be put right and told they lost to Carlos Queiroz’s men.
And when he moves onto the next support for reaction to the defeat in their penultimate group match, he was bluntly told Gareth Bale and Co were s*** for which he then had to apologise to Sky News viewers.
Here is the full exchange…
Interviewer: “Hi guys, you’re live on Sky News, you reaction to the win?”
Fan number one: “Er, we lost.”
Interviewer: “Oh sorry, you’re reaction to the loss, my apologies?
Interviewer to second fan: “Reaction the loss?”
Fan number two: “S***.”
Interviewer: “Apologies for the language.”
Wales face England in their final match and only a victory will do to avoid the Dragons crashing out at the group stage of their first World Cup appearance since 1958.
