WATCH: Viral video of Rohit Sharma's conversation with wife Ritika soon after Mumbai Indians' first win of the season

NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was a relieved man after playing a lead role in the team's first win of the season on Tuesday as they opened their account with a thrilling win against fellow strugglers Delhi Capitals.

Rohit led from the front in the game, scoring a quick-fire 65 off 45 balls and adding a valuable 71 runs for the opening wicket with Ishan Kishan (31 off 26). Mumbai Indians chased down a competitive 173-run target with six wickets in hand in a last-ball thriller.

Soon after the tense win, a much relieved Rohit took out time to call his wife Ritika with his 'Player of the Match' trophy in his hands.

The Mumbai franchise shared the video of the conversation between its captain and his better half on the social media platform and it went viral in no time.

Here's how the 'sweet' conversation went down between the two:

Rohit: Just finished!

Ritika: Congratulations, Sammy [daughter Samaira] will be happy to see the trophy.

Rohit: Sammy is happy to see the trophy? Not my batting? Yeah, I will get the trophy for her.

Ritika laughs (hahaha)

Rohit: Where were you watching (the match)?

Ritika: In our room. I was screaming so loud. My voice is completely gone. It was a crazy game. How do you feel?

Rohit: I felt good. I went inside. I didn't want to see the last over. My nails are gone. I have been part of these kinds of games in the last 15 years of IPL. I have seen this a lot.

Rohit: Miss you guys, I will see you tomorrow.

Ritika: Miss you too. Love you. I am so proud of you.

Rohit: Thank You! Bye.

Captain Rohit sets up maiden win for Mumbai Indians

Rohit Sharma was at his vintage best en route to his first IPL half-century in 25 innings last night before Mumbai Indians overcame some tense moments to pull off a last-ball win over Delhi Capitals.

Mumbai had suffered defeats in their first two games of the season before the Tuesday match. They are at 8th spot in the IPL standings after the win, just above Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, who are yet to open their account and suffered four defeats on a row.
