WATCH: Vikings’ Dallas Turner records first NFL sack

The Vikings’ defense was mostly dominant during the first half against New York. Minnesota held the Giants to three points and those points came due to an early C.J. Ham fumble on the Vikings’ opening drive.

The Minnesota defense allowed just 87 total yards to Daniel Jones and the Giants’ offense in the first 30 minutes. A big part of why the Vikings’ defense was so dominant was because of their front four.

Free agent signings Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard were solid in the opening half. Van Ginkel had four tackles and one sack. But then there is the first-round selection of Dallas Turner out of Alabama.

When the Giants were trying to go down the field in the final minute of the first half to get some points on the board, Jones was facing pressure, and Turner came through with a major sack. It was Turner’s first sack of his young NFL career, and he’s been on the field a ton when it’s an obvious passing down.
