It couldn’t have been written any better than this. In Tyler Higbee’s first game since tearing his ACL and MCL in January’s playoff game, the veteran tight end got into the end zone for a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter against the New York Jets.
It was a perfect play dialed up by Sean McVay, with Matthew Stafford rolling out to his right and hitting Higbee wide open in the flat. He beat a defender to the goal line and soared into the end zone for the touchdown.
It was his first touchdown since Week 12 of the 2023 season, a perfect way to get back on the field in a crucial game for Los Angeles.

Higbee hadn’t caught a pass all game before that one, but it was arguably the most important play of the afternoon for the Rams. He gave the Rams a 16-9 lead over the Jets with just over 10 minutes left in the game, and it came after Kamren Curl forced a turnover on defense with a strip-sack on Aaron Rodgers.
