Tutu Atwell has gotten more opportunities on offense this season, operating as one of the starting receivers and playing the majority of the snaps in the last five games. The last four games have been with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback and the two have combined for 84 yards on 10 receptions.
Atwell was mic’d up in his most recent game against the Chargers, which gives fans a better idea of the speedy receiver’s personality. And right off the bat, Mayfield cracked a hilarious joke about Atwell’s mic.
“Big boy mic’d up!” Atwell said to Mayfield.
Mayfield: “Little man mic’d up?”
Atwell: “Big man, boy.”
Mayfield: “They even made you a small mic?”
It’s no secret that Atwell is one of the smaller players in the NFL, standing just 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. And even Mayfield, who’s not the biggest quarterback himself, can poke fun at his height.
Mayfield and Atwell had a cool moment later on where Mayfield tells his receiver that he needed to put the ball in a better spot for him.
“I gotta put that ball, like – it’s gotta be like toe-drag,” Mayfield said.
“We good,” Atwell replied.
Rams WRs coach Eric Yarber knows how to fire Atwell up before a game, yelling “Turbo Tutu!” several times in the video, which was one of the best parts of the video, too.
